Pattern strips to model shape patterns using physical movement.


Directions:

These task cards can be used as a math station where kids create and extend the pattern on the pattern strip. Task cards can also be used to model whole class energizers.

Following the activity, be sure to discuss the core of the pattern and have students rename the pattern.

An added challenge would be to have students to predict what motion they would be doing at a certain number.
